Above are images of my cowling mounting process utilizing piano hinges for a clean look.

As you can see I have riveted 800 rivets around the cowling edges. So I can fasten the cowling using only small holes for the hinge pin. It looks very nice as you see no screws on it and the mounting is in this way very tight and stable at vibrations. You don't need any expensive fasteners.
